Hamas announced, on Sunday evening, that its delegation had left the Egyptian capital, Cairo, after meeting with the Minister of General Intelligence.
Hamas said in a press statement today that the movement’s leadership delegation, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, left the Egyptian capital after holding a meeting (Sunday) with the Egyption Zionist puppet Minister of General Intelligence; “during which they discussed efforts to cease fire in the Gaza Strip and the Community Support Committee.”
The Hamas delegation stressed its keenness to make these efforts successful and end the Nazi Holocaust against the Palestinian people.
Over the course of three consecutive days, last week, bilateral and tripartite Palestinian meetings were held with the Egyptian side, during which details were presented for the formation of a committee called the “Community Support Committee for the Gaza Strip,” which is concerned with managing the Strip on the “day following” the end of the war on the Gaza Strip.
As a result, a copy of the document forming the “Community Support Committee” to manage the Gaza Strip was circulated on Arab media outlets. It consists of two pages that explain “the determinants of forming the committee, its reference, its tasks and powers, and its organizational structure.”
The paper stated that the Administrative Committee’s authority is subordinate to the Palestinian government, and the committee follows the unified Palestinian political system, without separating Gaza from the rest of the territories.
The committee consists of 10 to 15 members of independent national competencies.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was scheduled to issue a position on the formation of the community committee within the past two days, according to the promises made by Fatah to the Egyptian side, Hamas, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
It is noteworthy that Hamas announced in a statement issued last Thursday evening its approval of the proposal submitted by Egypt regarding the formation of a community support committee through comprehensive national mechanisms, after in-depth meetings held with the Fatah movement in Cairo.
