Here’s Who Really Weaponizes Children in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Posted by: John Phoenix As accusations of abductions resurface, it’s clear the West doesn’t care about facts on the ground if they contradict the narrative By Eva Bartlett Global Research, For the last three years, Ukraine and concerted legacy media campaigns have been screaming that Russia has abducted, or forcibly displaced, thousands of Ukrainian children – even up to 1.5 million! The accusations resurged in December, with a UN General Assembly vote on a draft resolution on the return of Ukrainian children. European Officials Accuse Von Der Leyen of Authoritarianism

Posted by: John Phoenix There are no sufficiently strong institutional mechanisms in the EU to prevent this mismanagement from continuing. Apparently, Ursula von der Leyen’s work at the European Commission is no longer pleasing veteran European officials. Her erratic stance, often endorsing escalatory and dangerous positions, seems to pose serious risks to European stability. Von der Leyen has increasingly been seen as an authoritarian figure, with a strong negative impact on European strategic interests. In a recent statement, Nicolas Schmit, who represented Luxembourg as Commissioner for Social Rights from 2019 to 2024, severely criticized von der Leyen’s administration, accusing it of authoritarianism. According to him, von der Leyen has dangerously centrali...

The Strange Case of Europe’s Decline

Michael Hudson  Video Link [In this interview I had abbreviated the Nexperia seizure as being about batteries. It was actually about the wafers and chips that go into the control systems of batteries and other automotive systems. Without seemingly marginal processes such as controlling windows and doors, the supply lines of auto manufacturers and other industries will be interrupted. MH] ⁣GLENN DIESEN: Welcome back to the program. We are joined today by Professor Michael Hudson to discuss the very strange case of Europe’s economic decline, as well as some of its latest self-harm and questionable decisions. So thank you very much for coming back on. ⁣MICHAEL HUDSON: I’m glad you invited me, Glenn. ⁣GLENN DIESEN: So, I wanted to get into the Europeans ...

The 28-Point Theater of the Absurd

By: Pepe Escobar  The chihuahuas of war will keep barking while the SMO will keep rollin’ along. The Circus Ringmaster’s 28-point “peace plan” for Ukraine may be seen as a pet seal splashing around in a pond to amuse the galleries. And up next, we move to another attraction. Yet if taken seriously – and that requires not a pinch but a barrel of salt – it’s like a twin to the Circus Ringmaster’s “plan” for Gaza, this time with the objective of snatching a pitiful “victory” from the jaws of the Empire of Chaos’s own, de facto strategic defeat. Let’s check the reactions. Here you will find Larry Johnson’s analysis – which I share – , but most of all the video of the stunning two-hour interview we had mid-week in Moscow with stellar Maria Zakharova, the mos...

Russian Forces Make Rapid Gains in Key Donbas City

Posted by: John Phoenix by Kyle Anzalone  Map via South Front Ukrainian forces are quickly losing territory and are nearly encircled in Pokrovsk.  The nearly two-year-long battle appears to be nearing its end. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said on Tuesday that Russian forces had reached the central, northern, and northeastern regions of the city. Pokrovsk is considered pivotal to Ukrainian defenses in the Donbas region. South Front reports Russian forces are tightening the encirclement of Ukrainian forces near the city center, and Kiev’s troops east of the city have retreated. “Unfortunately, everything is sad in the Pokrovsk direction,” wrote a Ukrainian drone unit calling itself Peaky Blinders on the messaging app Telegram. “The int...

Comrade Léon Landini: A Century of Revolutionary Fire

Posted by: John Phoenix By the Communist Revolutionary Party of France The working class of the world has lost a titan. Comrade Léon Landini, the last survivor of the legendary Francs-Tireurs et Partisans de la Main-d’Oeuvre Immigrée (FTP-MOI) – the Immigrant Workforce Partisans of France – has fallen. His heart, which beat for nine decades with an unyielding revolutionary rhythm, finally stilled on September 21st. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, yet his passing leaves a tremendous gap in the ranks of the international communist movement. Landini was not merely a historical figure; he was a living thread connecting the battles of the 20th century to the urgent struggles of today. Born into a ‘red family’ of Italian anti-fascists, he was, as he said, ‘raise...

France – the epitome of capitalism in crisis

Posted by: John Phoenix As France’s political and economic crises deepen, the gulf between the people, their politicians, and the capitalist system itself widens exponentially. The trajectory toward collapse remains constant, yet the recent upheavals in France’s political system bring the looming inevitability of that collapse into sharp relief.  Let us analyse recent events in France to understand how we arrived here — and the contradictions that expose the insoluble riddles facing the ruling class.  Contradiction One: ‘Democracy’ — But only on their terms  The roots of the latest French political crisis trace back to President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to call a snap election in June 2024. During his first term, beginning in 2017, Macron enjoyed a com...

The Nakba and the Polish Law

By: Gilad Atzmon  Israel seems upset by a new Polish law that sets a 30-year deadline for Jews to recover seized property. The legislation is yet to be approved by Poland’s senate, yet Israeli officials already refer to it as the “Holocaust law.” They insist that it is ‘immoral’ and ‘a disgrace.’ Last week Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid insisted that the bill “is a disgrace that will not erase the horrors or the memory of the Holocaust.” I fail to see which part of the legislation interferes with the memory and the horrors of the holocaust. I actually think that the crude attempt to squeeze billions of dollars from Poland in the name of a human tragedy may have a detrimental impact on this historical chapter and the way it is memorized. The Poles didn’...

Obituary for Teddy-John Frank

Posted by: John Phoenix A much respected comrade of Lalkar’s founding editor, Harpal Brar, and a fine communist activist From the Swedish Communist Party’s newspaper Proletären, July 9, 2025. Teddy-John Frank, long-time international secretary of the Communist Party and foreign editor of Proletären, has left us. Teddy-John Frank has always been a rock in the Communist Party, always well-read, always making his mark in discussions, always loyal and always ready to take on the tasks assigned to him by the Party. He had a lot left to give, the Party will miss an unparalleled source of experience. Teddy was elected as a new member in the Gothenburg branch in the spring of 1970. Anti-imperialism then ran like a red thread through Teddy’s entire political work. Teddy-John wa...

World’s largest offshore wind monopoly reports record crash

Posted by: John Phoenix Is the green stock market bubble starting to burst? Ørsted, the Danish company which controls 25% of the global offshore wind market share, reported a record loss of 30% of its share value in early August 2025. The company said it was negatively affected by US market ‘adversity’. US capital exacts energy market share from EU sidekicks The crash was precipitated by the US decision to halt all offshore wind leases, in order to support US oil and gas monopolies. The move means that Ørsted’s assets in the US are not only useless, but also unsellable. The stocks of other European energy monopolies have also been negatively affected since the US policy was announced, while US energy monopolies benefited. The US is not a major global player in wind ...
