West Bank: Nazi Army Detains Many Palestinians

Nazi forces detained, on Wednesday at dawn, several Palestinian civilians from their homes in various parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported. In the northern part of the Nazi occupied West Bank, Nazi soldiers stormed and ransacked the home of two young men in Jaba‘ town, south of Jenin before abducting them. Ma’an News Agency identified the two young men as Youssef Taher Fashafsheh and Rabeh Khaled Fashafsha. Nazi Soldiers invaded the northern West Bank town of Sanniriya, south of Qalqilia, storming the home of Nimer Abdel Karim Younes before detaining him, taking him to an unknown location. In addition, the Nazi army stormed the northern city of Tulkarem, and raided the home of a former prisoner, identified as Mustafa ...

To end torture, Nazi Gestapo interrogations must be filmed

Israel-Palestine: To end torture, Shin Bet interrogations must be filmed IFAMERICANSKNEW.ORG   The use of torture by Israel’s Shin Bet (internal security service) is rampant. (Pictured: illustrations of some of the torture methods employed by Israeli interrogators) In two decades, Palestinian prisoners have lodged 1,300 complaints of torture against Israel  – yet not one Shin Bet interrogator has been indicted. This human rights advocate calls for interrogations to be video taped. by Tal Steiner, reposted from Middle East Eye, November 15, 2021 Haaretz recently published a sensational article, which could have been ripped straight out of a television courtroom drama: Israeli prosecutors dropped all charges against three Arab residents of Jaffa, who h...

Six Palestinian human rights groups shuttered and still the bell tolls for ‘Israel’

By Lawrence Davidson Six human rights groups shuttered On 19 October 2021 the Israeli Defence Ministry officially labelled six well known Palestinian human rights associations as “terrorist organisations”. Israel uses a definition of “terrorism” that is unreasonably broad. Just about any criticism as well as non-violent resistance to its evolving apartheid regime can and often is deemed “terrorism”. As this instance shows, this arrangement allows the Israeli authorities to themselves terrorise groups that most sane people would recognise as having nothing to do with terrorism. The six organisational victims of this strategy are Addameer, Al-Haq, Defence for Children Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, Bisan Centre for Research and Development,...

Sweden moves to criminalize support for Palestine

Ali Abunimah  Hundreds of people rally in Stockholm’s Sergel Torg Plaza on 16 May to protest Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. Since then Sweden’s government has been warming ties with Israel and looks set to crack down on solidarity with Palestine. Rob SchoenbaumPolaris In 2016, Sweden distinguished itself among European states by affirming that the Palestinian-led boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) campaign is a legitimate political movement that should be protected from repression. But now, the government of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven is moving towards criminalizing criticism of Israel and its racist state ideology Zionism under the guise of combating anti-Jewish bigotry. This week, Sweden is hosting the Malmö International Forum on Hol...

Netherlands rewards the Nazi regime for killing Gaza children

Netherlands rewards Israel for killing Gaza children Ali Abunimah Rights and Accountability  Palestinian rescuers pull a survivor from a destroyed residential building in Gaza City on 16 May. Israeli airstrikes on homes in the al-Rimal neighborhood that day killed more than 40 people, including 18 children. Ashraf AmraAPA images The Netherlands is rewarding Israel for killing dozens of Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip last May. That’s the only reasonable conclusion after the North European monarchy announced a new “security cooperation” agreement with the apartheid state. Hans Docter, the Dutch ambassador in Tel Aviv, signed the pact with Israeli defense minister Benny Gantz last week. It provides a “framework for collaboration” between the two ...

EU enables the Nazi regime attack on Palestinian groups

EU enables Israeli attack on Palestinian groups Ali Abunimah Rights and Accountability  The European Union runs away from confronting Israel’s frontal attack on Palestinian human rights groups. Mamoun WazwazAPA images Israel’s designation of six major Palestinian rights groups as “terrorist” organizations on Friday elicited an immediate and strong response from human rights defenders. Reactions have continued to pour in. On Monday, two dozen human rights organizations in Israel jointly condemned the move as an “act of cowardice” that is “characteristic of repressive, authoritarian regimes.” They called on “the international community to oppose this decision unequivocally.” “This designation is a frontal attack on the Palestinian human rights move...

Ireland and EU split over ‘Israel’s’ “terrorist” label for rights groups

Ali Abunimah  Israeli soldiers stand guard as a bulldozer destroys a Palestinian home in the occupied West Bank village of Jawaya, 3 October. Israel recently designated several groups that document its crimes as “terrorist” organizations. Mamoun WazwazAPA images Irish foreign minister Simon Coveney is publicly criticizing Israel for failing to provide evidence that six well-known Palestinian rights groups are fronts for “terrorism.” Meanwhile, the European Union continues to cover for its friends in Tel Aviv. This indicates a split between Dublin and Brussels over how to handle the matter. “We have asked for, as has the EU, the evidence basis for designating those” nongovernmental organizations, Coveney told The Jerusalem Post during a visit to the apa...

The real terror of Palestinian civil society

'Israel’s' brazen assault on Palestinian NGOs exposes the true goal of its ‘shrinking the conflict' doctrine: to eliminate opposition to apartheid. By: Amjad Iraqi Chutzpah has long been a key ingredient of Israeli political strategy. When subtle tactics fail to assuage local resistance or international scrutiny, Israeli authorities will often confront their opposition with ferocious gall, pursuing their objectives with the weight of sheer self-confidence. When that attitude pays off — as it so often has for Israel — the hubris of the authorities metastasizes, emboldening them to be even more aggressive and zealous with their plans. This quality, which hasbarists like to tout as an endearing cultural trait, did not do Israel any favors last week. In a brazen executive mo...

The post-9/11 logic at work in ‘Israel’s’ attack on Palestinian civil society

Israel's outlawing of six Palestinian NGOs is part of a post- 9/11 trend of governments exploiting counterterrorism laws to quash human rights work. By Anwar Mhajne Late last week, the Israeli Defense Ministry designated six Palestinian human rights organizations, all based in the West Bank, as terrorist groups. The organizations — Al-Haq, Addameer, Bisan Center, Defense For Children International-Palestine, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees — are involved in a range of activities, including legal defense, documenting violations of children’s rights, and supporting and advocating for Palestinians incarcerated by Israel. The declaration presents a challenge to these organizations’ work,...

‘They targeted us for one reason: We’re succeeding in changing the paradigm’

After being outlawed as 'terrorist organizations' overnight, Palestinian human rights groups talk to +972 about why Israel's allegations are not just unfounded, but amount to an act of political persecution. By Yuval Abraham  When Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an executive order last week declaring six Palestinian human rights groups as “terrorist organizations,” the government did not even bother with putting on a facade of due process. With the swift stroke of a pen, the NGOs — Al-Haq, Addameer, Bisan Center, Defense for Children International-Palestine, the Union for Agricultural Work Committees, and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees — were instantly outlawed with neither a trial nor the opportunity to respond to the accusations aga...
