VIVA PALESTINA

NOVANEWS I am proud of what the GFM did. But we did not break the siege. Viva Palestine did. It's worth thinking about why, and how, except, I'm still waiting for permission to get into Gaza from the Egyptian government. So that will wait, except to note that Viva has effectively straddled the humanitarian-political barrier very effectively, despite whatever other shortcomings the convoys may have. They get aid, monetary and political, and are able to bring in real physical assistance and intangible morale to the inhabitants of Gaza, without compromising the struggle. Until then: "The world will be seeing this image. And what is this image? This image is a humanitarian convoy, with medicine, from 17 countries, with people of all races and creeds, coming together being faced by ranks of rio...

ERIC IS PATHETIC

NOVANEWS So while I sit around in Cairo anxiously waiting for the Egyptian security forces to decide when or if they will permit internationals to enter Gaza through the Rafah crossing--they will reportedly open the border sometime in the next 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 weeks--I need some amusement. Thankfully, the Nation printed a few letters outlining the many obvious idiocies--every word in the piece--in Eric Alterman's paean to Israeli cultural production, written to celebrate the one year anniversary of the meticulous bombardment of a refugee camp. To mourn the Cast Lead Operation, Eric wrote about the introspective capabilities of the society that produced it. A few comments from readers: Alterman assumes a referee status between right and left thinkers on the conflict, when actually he i...

NOVANEWS Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign 29 March 2010 Protesters disrupted a lunchtime performance by the Jerusalem Quartet in London today. The members of this Quartet are ‘cultural ambassadors’ for Israel and the Israeli army. The Israeli Press Service says: "For the three immigrants [3 of the Quartet came from Russia], carrying a rifle in one hand and a violin in the other is the ultimate Zionist statement" The concert at the Wigmore Hall was being broadcast live by the BBC. They were protesting that the Quartet, who are cultural ambassadors for the State of Israel, are promoting the interests of Israel and all its policies against the Palestinians, to the British public. The protesters drew attention to the Quartet’s strong links to the Israeli Army, Israel’s crimes...

IS THE ENEMY OUR OWN STUPIDITY ?

NOVANEWS By Gordon Duff STAFF WRITER, Senior Editor America’s recent attack, augmented by top line Afghan army troops, against the massive Taliban enclave in the city of Marjah, population 80,000, a city that has been an enemy stronghold for years may not have happened at all. Can anyone prove it? Nobody had ever heard of Marjah before or even knew a city was there. Nobody knew it was a Taliban stronghold either. One thing we can easily figure out from the total lack of reporting, other than our “screw ups,” killing the usual civilians, using our over reliance on technology, is that the sham of the operation was simply to give the mercenary army of the Northern Alliance, an army no American soldier would turn its back on, a casual airing. A trip to Vegas would have been cheaper and we...

NORTH KOREAN NUKE AND U.S. MONEY

NOVANEWS by Michael Leon ShareInteresting post by Paul Joseph Watson in PrisonPlanet on nuclear proliferation, North Korea and AQ Khan. Clinton, Rumsfeld and Bush played key role in arming Stalinist state, CIA asset AQ Khan helped provide means for Stalinist state to build nuclear arsenal, with the protection of Uncle Sam by Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Amidst the cacophony of condemnation from all sides following North Korea’s second nuclear bomb test, there has been no mention whatsoever of how the secretive Stalinist state got its weapons in the first place – they were paid for by the U.S. government. Both the Clinton and Bush administrations played a key role in helping Kim Jong-Il develop North Korea’s nuclear prowess from the mid 1990’s onwards. The hypocrisy being spewed for...

OBAMA SNUBBED ZIONIST NETANYAHU

NOVANEWS By Stephen C. Webster Obama reportedly snubbed Israeli PM, walked out on dinner after no deal on settlements Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned home to media derision on Thursday, having failed to resolve a bitter row with Washington over the building of Jewish settlements. One publication even called it a diplomatic "hazing" by President Obama. During the visit, the Israeli leader suffered perhaps the chilliest reception yet by an American president, as Barack Obama spoke to him only briefly and, learning that Netanyahu was unwilling to compromise on building new settlements in Palestine, abruptly left to dine by himself. Netanyahu did not pose for any photographs and made no statement on arrival in Israel, but government spokesman Nir Hefetz insisted Israel and i...

NOVANEWS By CARLOTTA GALL KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — American forces have begun operations to push back Taliban insurgents in this most important southern province, the birthplace and spiritual home of the Taliban, and a full-scale offensive is expected in coming weeks. Army Specialist Cade Kitchens searched a farmer in Kandahar Province, whose residents feel under threat from both sides. But the Taliban have already turned this city into a battlefield as they prepare for the operation, which American officials hope will be decisive in breaking the insurgency’s grip on southern Afghanistan. ZIO=NAZI MINISTER VOWS TO LIQUIDATE HAMAS

NOVANEWS Zio=Nazi senior minister on Sunday warned that his regime would "liquidate" the Islamist Hamas-run government in Gaza following deadly weekend clashes that killed two Zionist soldiers. "Sooner or later we will liquidate the military regime of the pro-Iranian Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip," Nazi Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, from the governing rightwing Likud party, told public radio. "I am not setting a timetable, but we will not tolerate this regime continuing to strengthen itself militarily and providing itself with an arsenal of rockets that threaten our territory," he added. Zionist officer and soldier were killed over the weekend in the deadliest clashes since Zio=Nazi 22-day Holocust in Gaza launched in December 2008. That war killed some 1,400 Palestinians and fla...
