NOVANEWS Bishop tried for allegedly denying Holocaust        BERLIN – Ultraconservative British Bishop Richard Williamson is being tried in a German court for allegedly denying the Holocaust. Proceedings opened Friday in a Regensburg local court against the 70-year-old bishop. Williamson had said in a TV interview recorded in Germany in 2008 he did not believe the Nazis had gas chambers to kill Jews and others. Denying the Holocaust is a criminal offense in Germany. Last year the court issued Williamson an order of punishment and a fine that he refused to accept, forcing the trial.
