Men Die, Lions Rise

NOVANEWS     by Jonathan Azaziah   Is the sky falling, are there pigs flying… I mean, is this still the same doomed reality… Yes, because there’s still Iraqi, Afghan, Somali, Pakistani and Palestinian kids dying… And yes, your eyes are truthful about this cruel brutality… Peering through the fallacy… They’ve put a mask on it, so its easier to consume the savagery… Why they’d take him, he was a brother of peace, like harmonious music and love… They are the sons of the beast, executioners and Lucifer’s thugs… Vittorio Arrigoni, it’s so hard to grasp that you are gone… But you left here as something different than what you were when you were born… At birth you were a man, but in death you became a lion… A martyr, a hero who in life gave a voice to those living in p...

Salafist Group Claims No connection With Murder Of Italian Activist

NOVANEWS by crescentandcross   The Tawhid and Jihad fundamentalist Salafist group in Gaza, claimed it has no connection with the murder of Italian peace activist, Vittorio Arriogoni, whose body was found hanged on Friday at dawn. The group published a statement on the internet claiming that it had no connection with the death of Arrigoni, yet stated that what happened is “a natural outcome of the practices of the Hamas-led government against Salafist groups in Gaza”. The body of Arriogoni was found in an area, north-west of Gaza city. The group, or an affiliated group, initially published a video on YouTube of Arrigoni before he was murdered. Arriogoni entered Gaza with an aid convoy in 2008, and showed utmost passion to the Palestinians and their struggle against the Israeli o...

Gaza mourns murdered Italian peace activist

NOVANEWS by crescentandcross   The National staff GAZA // The people of Gaza were in mourning yesterday for a pro-Palestinian peace activist found hanged a day after he was abducted, apparently by Islamist militants inspired by al Qa’eda. Hamas police discovered the body of Vittorio Arrigoni, 36, an Italian member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), when they raided an apartment in Gaza City where he was being held. The apartment was otherwise empty. Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder and a third is being sought, Hamas officials said yesterday. In Rome, the Italian foreign ministry condemned what it called a “barbaric murder” and a “vile and irrational gesture of violence on the part of extremists indifferent to the value of a human life”. ...

Pro Israeli groups have for decades blamed left wing types, Islam, Arabs and many others for the plight of the Palestinian people. The hate goes on from generation to generation. The International Solidarity Movement reports: The International Solidarity Movement is shocked and deeply saddened by the killing of our friend and colleague Vittorio Arrigoni. Mona El-farra’s Remembrance

NOVANEWS       Mona el-Farra remembers Vik: Vik I know    1975-2011 With deep sadness in my heart I write. I am sad and shocked that Vik has been taken from our world so soon and so tragically. I am appalled that such ignorant brutality and violence still exists in Palestinian society. Vik you were dedicated, full of humanity, and fun.  Your love for life, music and laughter meant that your presence always created a nice atmosphere,  for our youth and children in different occasions. You shared our lives in Gaza for more than 2 years, you danced Dabbka , you would always reach out and shake hands with little boys and girls in the streets, you would play football with them. You were there in our funerals as well as our weddings. and more than that your daily protesting a...

Turkey to IsraHell: We won’t stop upcoming Gaza flotilla

NOVANEWS   Turkish rebuttal comes after IsraHell officially requested that Ankara thwart a planned attempt to launch a 15-ship flotilla, one year after an Zio-Nazi's takeover of a similar endeavor ended with the killing of 9 Turkish activists. Turkey said on Thursday it had received a request from IsraHell to help stop activists sailing to Gaza on the first anniversary of an Zio-Nazi raid on a Turkish ship, but it said the flotilla plan was not Ankara’s concern. Turkey, a Muslim former ally of the Zionist Jewish state, has scaled back ties, demanding IsraHel l apologize and pay damages for last year’s raid, which caused an international outcry. The Mavi Marmara, aboard which Israel’s deadly raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla resulted in the deaths of 9 Turkish activists Ma...

Kerem Shalom Crossing to Gaza Reopened, but No Reason for Optimism

NOVANEWS   Israel’s limitations on the import and export of goods from the Gaza Strip does not harm armed groups, as Israel contends, but instead negatively impacts the quality of life for all Gaza residents. Today (13 April), Israel permitted reopening of the Karm Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing in the southern Gaza Strip, which was closed for a week. The Kerem Shalom crossing remains the sole open passage for goods between Israel and the Gaza Strip. The reopening of Kerem Shalom will not allow for real development of Gaza’s economy. Although for example a delivery of flowers to Europe is expected to leave in the coming days, exports from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank are completely prohibited. According to data published by Gisha, the average monthly amount of building mater...
