Do Cars Dream of an Electric Future?

BY MICHAEL BARKER Power sub-station, Imperial Valley. Photo: Jeffrey St. Clair. It is no surprise that capitalism, a system that prioritises private profit before all else, is destroying our planet. And it is no surprise that the very same corporations that have overseen this destruction are now pretending that they care. This grotesque phenomenon is clearly illustrated by the ongoing contortions being displayed by the global automobile industry with their newly professed obsession in selling us electric cars. Take the case of General Motors (GM), who apparently envision “a world with zero crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity – time.” Recall th...

Bethlehem: Nazi Colonizes Cut Olive And Cactus Trees

Nazi illegal JEWISH colonizers cut at least forty olive trees and several cactus trees in a Palestinian orchard in the al-Jab’a village, south of Bethlehem, in the Nazi occupied West Bank. Thiab Masha’la, the head of the al-Jab’a Village Council, said the colonizers cut at least forty olive trees the Palestinians planted three to seven years earlier. He added that the orchard is owned by Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman Abu Loha in the al-Mashameesh area, in the eastern part of the village. Masha’la also said the Nazi JEWISH colonizers destroyed and cut barbed wires surrounding the lands and cut a few cactus trees.

Antarctica on Edge

BY ROBERT HUNZIKER Photograph Source: Joe Mastroianni, National Science Foundation – Public Domain East Antarctica, often times referred to as “the final frontier of global warming,” is making headlines once again. A few weeks ago East Antarctica’s temperatures soared by 50F to 90F above normal. (Ref: Antarctica Crushes Records, March 23, 2022) A couple of weeks later East Antarctica’s Conger Ice Shelf (1,200 sq km) completely collapsed and two additional calving events occurred at other glaciers, all in the same week. This prompts an interesting dilemma. According to David Spratt, research director of the Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration in Melbourne: Early IPCC reports said Antarctica would be stable for a thousand years. Then, in 2007 Richard Alle...

Redlining’s Legacy Endures as 45 Million Americans Breathe Polluted Air

"Racism from the 1930s, and racist actions by people who are no longer alive, are still influencing inequality in air pollution exposure today," the study's lead author noted. BRETT WILKINS More than half a century after the official end of discriminatory redlining, 45 million people across the United States—overwhelmingly in communities of color—are exposed to elevated levels of illness-inducing air pollution, a study published Wednesday affirmed. "This groundbreaking study builds on the solid empirical evidence that systemic racism is killing and making people of color sick." A study conducted by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Washington and published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology Lett...

Nazi regime Mobilizes Troops For Drills In Northern Jordan Valley

Nazi regime Wednesday morning mobilized scores of troops for military drills in the Ein al-Hilwa area in the northern Jordan Valley, according to a local activist. Aref Daraghma, a local human rights activist, told WAFA that scores of heavily armed Nazi soldiers deployed in the vicinity of the tents of the Palestinian community in preparation for the drills. The Jordan Valley, which is a fertile strip of land running west along the Jordan River, is home to about 65,000 Palestinians and makes up approximately 30% of the West Bank. Since 1967, when the Nazi army occupied the West Bank, Nazi regime has transferred at least 11,000 of its Jewish citizens to the Jordan Valley. Some of the settlements in which they live were built almost entirely on private Palestinian land. The ...

Salfit: Nazi Colonizers Uproot 110 Olive Saplings

On Wednesday, a group of illegal Nazi JEWISH colonizers uprooted 110 Palestinian olive saplings in Bruqin town, west of Salfit, in the central West Bank. Resident Ghaleb Sheikh Omar, the orchard owner, said the Nazi JEWISH colonizers uprooted 85 olive saplings in his orchard located in Khirbat Jamaluddin, northwest of Bruqin. He added that he had been working to rehabilitate his 14 Dunams of land for the past several years to plant them. In addition, the the Nazi JEWISH colonizers cut twenty-five olive saplings in an orchard, owned by Mahmoud Sheikh Omar, in the al-Matwi area, east of Bruqin. Salfit governor, Abdullah Kamil, denounced the constant JEWISH violations, especially since the colonizers are encouraged by the complicity of the Nazi occupation army and the Nazi re...

A group of fanatic illegal Nazi JEWISH colonizers invaded, Thursday, a Palestinian orchard in the Khallet ad-Dabe’ area, in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the Nazi occupied West Bank, and uprooted at least sixty olive saplings, in addition to attacking shepherds. Fuad al-‘Amour, the coordinator of the National Protections Committee in southern Hebron, said the Nazi JEWISH colonizers uprooted at least sixty olive saplings that the Palestinians recently planted. He added that the attack was the second of its kind in the same area in less than two months. Nablus: Nazi army To Demolish 250 Square/Meter Water Reservoir

The Nazi High Court issued a ruling, Friday, canceling a preliminary resolution preventing the Nazi army from demolishing a 250 square/meter Palestinian water reservoir, owned by Thabet Abu Thabet on his privately owned land in Furush Beit Dajan area, east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture issued a statement denouncing the upcoming demolition of the water reservoir and said: “Israel’s illegal occupation is waging a war even on the water that Palestinians use for drinking and agriculture.” It added that such decisions aim at the forcible exile of the Palestinians from their lands, and said that the decision, which was made during extensive snow covering various parts of Nazi occupied Palestine, is just another proof of the cruel and...

Dangerous Heat Across the Globe

BY ROBERT HUNZIKER Image by veeterzy. The planet is heating up like never before, as “ground temperatures” hit all-time records in the Northern Hemisphere as well as the Southern Hemisphere, and ocean temperatures threaten the world’s major fisheries of the Far North, which are imperiled beyond any known historical precedent. (See- The Oceans Are Overheating, January 14, 2022) According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) July 2021 was the hottest month in recorded history for the world. The European Union (EU) satellite system also confirmed that the past seven years have been the hottest on record. Too much heat brings unanticipated problems of unexpected scale, putting decades of legacy infrastructure at risk of malfunctioning and/or ...
