EU/NATO’s impotent rage as Lukashenko secures another victory for Belarus

On January 26, President Alexander Lukashenko was once again reelected as the leader of Belarus. An expected result, one might say, although the fact that he got nearly 88% of the votes makes it his best result yet. What was also expected is the political West’s refusal to accept the results. However, its ability to do anything about the Belarussian election is extremely limited, to put it mildly. The European Union and NATO see Lukashenko as a serious “thorn in their side”, as they haven’t been able to capture Belarus for around 30 years thanks to him.
