She believed Tories could gain additional majority control of parliament, making it easier to pursue her agenda. Results proved otherwise as follows: Needing 326 for majority rule, Tories won 315, Labour 261, the Scottish National Party 35, Lib Dems 12, Democratic Unionist Party 10 and others 13, four seats to be determined from final vote tallies.
