Syrian War Report – July 24, 2017: Syrian Army Made Large Gains In Raqqah Province

NOVANEWS By South Front The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and tribal forces, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have liberated Al-Dakhilah, Bir Al-Sabkhawi, and Al-Sabkhawi from ISIS terrorists in the southern countryside of Raqqah and, according to pro-government sources, reached the Euphrates River and cut off the Al-Bukamal-Aleppo highway. Thus, the army and its allies repeated the al-Bab-style operation when they built a buffer zone in order to stop a possible Turkish advance into central Syria. Control over the Al-Bukamal-Aleppo highway prevents a possible US-led operation in the direction of Deir Ezzor from the area of Raqqah. The SAA, Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army, backed up by the Syrian Air Force, have launched a large coordinated operation against Hayat ...

Syrian War Report – March 27, 2017: SDF Crashing ISIS In Tabqa Area

NOVANEWS By South Front Last weekend, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mostly consisting of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), entered the Tabqa Airbase and took control of some nearby villages, including Ayed Kebir, from ISIS terrorists in the province of Raqqah. With this advance the SDF deployed in a striking distance from the ISIS-held town of Tabqa. If the town of Tabqa, the Tabqa Airbase and the Tabqa dam fully captured, the US-backed force will obtain an important base of operations southwest of the ISIS self-proclaimed capital of Raqqah that will allow the group to continue its operation to isolate this city. The ISIS-linked media outlet “Amaq” reported that the Tabqa dam north of Raqqa is on the verge collapse after a number of US airstrikes had hit t...

Syrian War Report – February 20, 2017: Turkey Further Pushes Its Plan For Raqqah Offensive

NOVANEWS By South Front …from SouthFront Pro-Turkish militants and the Turkish army have still been facing difficulties in breaking ISIS defenses around al-Bab. Turkey-led forces have failed to seize Qabasin and Bzaah, and retreated from almost all areas seized inside al-Bab. Intense fighting is ongoing. Meanwhile, the Syrian army, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, continued its operation against ISIS terrorists east of the Kuweires Airbase, outflanking Deir Hafer from the northern direction. The Syrian army has liberated a number of sites along the Homs-Palmyra highway from ISIS and is now in about 13km from the Palmyra triangle, an important logistical site near the western gates of Palmyra. However, government forces still have to liberate at least Jazar fields, the H...
