Olga Benário Prestes died in Bernburg Euthanasia Centrein 1942 where she was gassed alongside hundreds of other women political prisoners. [“Olga Benário Prestes”. She is relatively unknown and is an anti-fascist heroine.Although she was Jewish what counted for her was not her religion but her political commitment as a Communist to the fight for socialism.
