World hunger at Record High in 2021 and going higher this year and next

Hard time are already here, and they are going to get worse By Jim W. Dean, …from Politico [ Editor’s Note: Once again we have American media pushing the line the Russia is totally responsible for whatever economic calamites the Ukraine war causes. They falsely pick the staring point as this year. And of course they leave out the 2014 US/NATO coup in Kiev, then the fake-failed Minsk agreements, and using ‘white out’ on the 14 years of shelling the Donbass Russian people, with the 14,000 dead. Trump is not the only ‘Big Lie’ guy. As Churchill once said during WWII, that in wartime the truth is so precious it must be protected by a “Bodyguard of Lies”. These Europeans pretend that we don’t have computers and can just Google it all right up as they are req...

Tulkarem: Several suffocation injuries, including a doctor, during confrontations

A Palestinian doctor was Monday injured by Israeli gunfire, while dozens of others suffered from suffocation, during Nazi military raid in the village of Kafr al-Lubbad, to the east of the Nazi occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources. Witnesses told Shoah that confrontations between Palestinians and Nazi forces broke out following the raid into the village, which resulted in injuring 70-year-old doctor Adnan Mahfouth with a rubber bullet in the neck as he offered help to the casualties during the confrontations. Dozens of others suffered from suffocation due to inhaling the tear gas bomb fired at them by the Nazi Gestapos.

New World Order Is Linked with Zionism and Banking Cartel

Now that President Putin has committed the Russian military to supporting the legitimate government of Syria, he and his country are now being targeted by the same diabolical forces, and for the identical reasons. By Jonas E. Alexis, Mark Dankof is the former 36th District Chairman of the Republican Party in King County/Seattle. He was an elected delegate to Texas State Republican Conventions in 1994 and 1996 and entered the United States Senate race in Delaware in 2000 as the nominated candidate of the Constitution Party against Democratic candidate Thomas Carper and Republican incumbent William Roth. Jonas E. Alexis: The Ayatollah Khomeini did not hesitate to call America the “Great Satan” in 1979. He said that “international Zionism is using the United States to plunder t...

Poor Nations Face ‘Perfect Storm’ of Debt, Food, and Energy Crises: UN

"In the face of this gathering storm of adversity, we must come together as an international community," said United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed. KENNY STANCIL "The developing world is at the brink of a perfect storm of debt, food, and energy crises." "Instances of civil unrest are brewing in all corners of the world." So said Rebecca Grynspan, head of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), during her remarks at Monday's 55th meeting of the U.N. Commission on Population and Development (CPD). Given "elevated levels of socioeconomic stress" amid the Covid-19 pandemic and "the unremitting cost" of the climate emergency, "global exposure to this crisis is counted in the billions of p...

Now is the Time for Nonalignment and Peace

BY ROGER MCKENZIE – VIJAY PRASHAD Wall art, Portland, Oregon. Photo: Jeffrey St. Clair. War is an ugly part of the human experience. Everything about it is hideous. War is most obviously the act of invasion and the brutality that goes along with its operations. No war is precise; every war hurts civilians. Each act of bombardment sends a neurological shudder through a society. World War II demonstrated this ugliness in the Holocaust and in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. From Hiroshima and the Holocaust rose two mighty movements, one for peace and against the perils of further nuclear attacks, and the other for an end to the divisions of humanity and for a nonalignment from these divisions. The Stockholm Appeal of 1950, signed by 300 million people, called for a...

87% of IMF Loans Forcing Austerity on Crisis-Ravaged Nations

"This epitomizes the IMF's double standard: It is warning rich countries against austerity while forcing poorer ones into it." BRETT WILKINS The conditions of nearly 90% of the International Monetary Fund's pandemic-related loans are forcing developing nations suffering some of the world's worst humanitarian crises to implement austerity measures that fuel further impoverishment and inequality, an analysis published Tuesday by Oxfam International revealed. "The IMF must suspend austerity conditions on existing loans and increase access to emergency financing." Oxfam found that "13 out of the 15 IMF loan programs negotiated during the second year of the pandemic require new austerity measures such as taxes on food and fuel or spending cuts that could put vita...

A Coward’s War

BY STEPHEN F. EISENMAN J.L. David, The Love of Paris and Helen, 1788, Louvre Museum (public domain) Literary Lessons In Book III of The Iliad, Paris shows up for battle clad in a lion skin and brandishing a bow, a sword and two bronze spears. His armor and weaponry are replete – too replete. So, when he challenges the bravest of the Achaeans to a duel, we know what to expect. Menelaus, aggrieved husband of the abducted Helen, springs from his chariot, Homer tells us, “like a hungry lion that lights on the carcass of some goat or horned stag and devours it then and there.” But Menelaus doesn’t get to enjoy his meal. Paris is a lover not a fighter, as J.L. David’s painting shows, and he flees the battlefield for the boudoir. Reproached by Hector for his cowardice, Paris...

Energy crisis: how imperialism manufactures ‘shortages’

The present global energy crisis is not fundamentally to do with shortages in the supply of gas, oil or coal. Whilst fossil fuels are a finite resource, a fact which is to be reckoned with in any rational energy plan, the reality here is that there is still a superabundance of such fuels, whether held in reservoirs or yet to be extracted from beneath the earth’s surface. The current man-made shortages are entirely a consequence of the inability of capitalism to organise production around the needs of society rather than the profits of the few. Capitalist production is very good at producing more capital but quite hopeless at reliably producing the goods actually needed by society. This is why capitalist society repeatedly confronts us with the spectacle of hunger in the midst o...

A revolutionary salute to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic

–by Devin Cole www.lalkar.org Reproduced from Workers’ World, with thanks December 2, 2021, was the 46th anniversary of the end of the Laotian Civil War. Not only did the Royal Lao Government, in power from 1947 to 1975, fall that day, but also the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, a socialist nation with a Marxist-Leninist government, was established and remains in power to this day. The revolutionary resistance was led by Pathet Lao (‘Lao Nation’), also known as the Lao People’s Liberation Army. This was a Communist organization and movement that gained thousands of followers between 1950 and 1975, when Pathet Lao dissolved after their victory over the Lao monarchists. Since 1975, Laos has been recovering and redeveloping from the wounds of the onslaught by U...
