NOVANEWS A Los Angeles Muslim civil rights organization has filed a misconduct complaint and requested an internal investigation of police in Henderson, Nev., after seven Southern California Muslim men were detained and questioned for praying in a parking lot. The men were driving through Henderson on Dec. 20 when they stopped for food and gas at a shopping center, according to the Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. While stopped, the men prayed next to their vehicle. NOVANEWS Fortunately, I read the hard copy of the New York Times because now I notice that the New York Times changes headlines and texts without informing the reader. In the original hard copy the headline of this story was: "Gates sees Danger in Europe's anti-military views." Just think about it. Basically, Gates sees Danger in Europe's peaceful views. Peace is dangerous and war is safe. Orwell would have loved that. The headline has been changed in this on-line version. "“The demilitarization of Europe — where large swaths of the general public and political class are averse to military force and the risks that go with it — has gone from a blessing in the 20th century to an impediment to achieving real security and lasting peace in the 21st,”"
