European parliament's oldest deputy left-wing icon,

NOVANEWS Manolis Glezos Posted by: Richard Reilly   From the Guardian (UK): Manolis Glezos, the new European parliament's oldest deputy, is a 92-year-old second world war hero, leftwing icon, inveterate writer and indefatigable activist. On Monday, he added another feather to his cap, winning more votes (105,184) than any other Euro parliamentarian on Greece's 21-MEP ticket. He doesn't tweet, doesn't type and insists on taking an afternoon nap every day – a legacy of being exiled and imprisoned for 16 years for his views. "That way I get two days out of one," he once told the Guardian. "I start at 7am stop at 3pm, start again at 5pm and go all the way through to midnight. I get a tremendous amount done." Famous for ripping down the swastika from the Acropolis within days of ...

Greeks look to strip immunity from neo-Nazi lawmakers

NOVANEWS All 18 MPs from Golden Dawn could face charges if parliament grants prosecutors’ wish Ed note—now, in the interest of heading off any and all screeching and kvetching on the part of those intellectually-numb WNs who will inevitably fill the comments section of TUT with the obligatory HOW DARE YOU…GOLDEN DAWN IS NOT NEO-NAZI…WHAT KIND OF WEBSITE RELIES ON JEWISH INFORMATION IN DEFAMING A GROUP LIKE GOLDEN DAWN WITH THE ACCUSATION OF BEING NEO NAZI??!!’ we will merely quote Nikolaos Michaloliakos, the group’s leader in an article published by the Greek newspaper Iefimerida– “We are the faithful soldiers of the National Socialist idea and 42 years later, with our thought and soul given to the last great battle, with our thought and soul given to the black and red banners, with our...

Golden Dawn MP Kasidiaris Slaps Female From Rival Party On Live TV

NOVANEWS ed note–we here at TUT are oftentimes on the receiving end of emails from people supporting Golden Dawn. Our position on them is that the verdict is out, as we don’t yet know what to make of them. Certainly any nationalist-minded party trying to expose organized Jewish interests is a good thing, provided they are on the up and up and are smart about how they do it.  However, it is and has been our position that much of the behavior taking place on the part of GD or its members, particularly the violence against immigrants and Muslims–only serves one interest in this, and that of course is the Jews. By such behavior what GD is doing is to give Jewish interests credibility in painting all those who oppose them as violent thugs and this has played an indispensable role in the recen...

Greece is starting to look like Weimar Germany

NOVANEWS By Daniel Hannan World Nikolaos Michaloliakos, leader of Golden Dawn (Photo: AFP/GETTY) Economic woes have led to the rise of Golden Dawn and provoked a crisis of democracy Economic collapse, mass joblessness, uniformed paramilitaries, street violence, political assassinations and, now, a round-up of opposition MPs. Euro-wracked Greece is beginning to feel eerily like Weimar Germany. The beleaguered Athens government has arrested five deputies and 15 other activists from the fascist party Golden Dawn, including the leader, Nikolaos Michaloliakos. The Greek constitution prohibits the outright banning of political parties, but the authorities have got around that by classing Golden Dawn as a criminal organisation and linking it to the murder 11 days ago of a Leftist musician....
