A few months ago, during the intense fighting in Syria, Hamas closed its office in Damascus and moved it to Doha in Qatar. Qatar, as we know, is the money and power and owner of Al Jazeera network, amongst many other things, and Qatar has been an increasingly active player in the politics of the Middle East and has to a large extent been clashing with or competing with Iranian interests in the area.
